Crime Statistics in MS Access Database and MS Excel Spreadsheet

The UCR Data by street is provided here monthly as Microsoft Access databases and as Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The files should be downloaded and saved to your computer for viewing, searching, etc. You must have Microsoft Access or Microsoft Excel installed on your computer in order to view these files. If you do not have Access or Excel, you can view the same information in a different format by visiting the Neighborhood (Police Beat) Crime Statistics area (see above section.) Each month's stats are posted around the end of the following month. Excel spreadsheets were added because we discovered a firewall issue many users on university networks were encountering when trying to open Access databases from our web site.

Uniform Crime Report (UCR) Statistics

The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program was conceived in 1929 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police to meet a need for reliable, uniform crime statistics for the nation. In 1930, the FBI was tasked with collecting, publishing, and archiving those statistics, which are submitted by nearly 17,000 local law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S. Many annual statistical publications are produced from this data. To review the national publications, see the UCR section of the FBI's web site.

For Houston's UCR data, select the report you wish to view below. These are Adobe PDF files. You will need the free Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to view them.
